Celtic museum Havranok
Havránok is a unique archeological park situated over the water surface of a dam Liptovská Mara and so is one of the oldest cultural monuments in Liptov. It represents one of the most eminent archeological sites in Slovakia with the remains of suburbs from the younger Iron age. Some of these constructions already come from the Slavic settlements of this area. From the defense tower you will get a beautiful view on the south side of Liptov. The secret of the distant past can be admired near uncovered remains of sacrificing shaft with an altar, which is situated near the Druid temple from the 1st century B.C. Forefathers were sacrificing jewels and corn, but besides that also bones of 7 people were found here. It is assumed, that they were the victims of Celtic religious rituals. Besides historical monuments, Havránok is a popular place for variety of different cultural and historical events.
