Spa Lucky

Spa Lúčky is in a mountain valley, which is open to the south, under the slopes of Choč, on the border between the regions of Orava and Liptov, at 653m above sea level. It is located 15km north-east of Ružomberok.

Liptov basin, mysterious caves, gurgling waterfall, clean air, travertine remains, forests and mountains ... Also these words could characterize the environment of well-know spa town Lúčky with history reaching back to the year 1761, when the owner Adam Turjansky had had the first spa building built. However, history of Lúčky reaches much deeper, even to the Stone Age times, when this area was a refuge of primeval man, the Neanderthal. Many historically significant personalities are connected with Lúčky, such as the Hungarian ruler Matej Korvín, who owned the castle Liptov, or military general Ludvík Svoboda, who was enchanted by the beauty of this environment.
